Bill Due Tracker
Track recurring bills, due dates and paid/unpaid status.
Overview
The Bill Due Tracker is a focused way to capture every recurring obligation in one place so nothing slips past you. Add bills like rent, utilities, internet, phone, insurance, gym memberships, and streaming services with the amount due, currency, due date, and recurrence (monthly, yearly, or one-off). The tracker then surfaces what is unpaid, what is overdue, and what is due within the next seven days, which turns "did I pay the electric bill?" into a glanceable status row.
Beyond the to-do list, the tool computes outstanding balances by currency so households juggling multi-currency obligations can still see a clean total. Marking a bill paid is a single click, and the next occurrence is calculated automatically from the recurrence pattern. The result is a low-friction, paper-free ledger that prevents late fees and protects credit scores without forcing you to adopt a heavyweight budgeting app.
How it works
Each bill is stored with its name, amount, currency, due date, and recurrence flag. A summarizer compares every unpaid row against today's date to label the bill as Overdue, Due Soon, Due Later, or Paid, and aggregates totals by currency. When you tick a bill as paid, it drops out of the active counters; for recurring bills, the tool advances the next due date by a month or a year depending on the cadence you chose.
Sorting prioritises unpaid rows by due date so the most urgent items sit at the top. The Due Soon window defaults to seven days, which matches how most billers send reminders, so anything inside that horizon is highlighted before it can become a late charge.
Examples
- Track the household monthly utilities: electric on the third, gas on the tenth, water on the fifteenth, and internet on the twenty-second, all flagged as monthly recurring.
- Log annual obligations such as car insurance renewal, domain registration, professional licence fees, and home insurance, marked yearly so they reappear next year.
- Capture a one-off medical bill with a thirty-day pay window so it does not disappear into an email folder.
- Manage multi-currency rent (USD) and overseas family support (EUR) and watch the per-currency outstanding totals update independently.
FAQ
Does it pay bills for me?
No. The tracker is informational only; you still pay each biller through their own portal, bank transfer, or autopay. Mark the row paid once the payment clears.
What counts as "due soon"?
Any unpaid bill whose due date falls within seven days of today. Overdue items are flagged separately and stay highlighted until you mark them paid.
Can I track different currencies?
Yes. Each bill has its own three-letter currency code, and the outstanding totals are grouped by currency so amounts are never silently mixed.
What happens when I tick a recurring bill as paid?
The tool advances the displayed next-due date by one month or one year so the bill reappears on the correct future date.
Can I delete a bill I no longer have?
Yes. The trash icon on the row removes it permanently, which is the right move when you cancel a subscription or pay off a finance plan in full.
