Birthday & Anniversary Tracker
Never miss a birthday or anniversary again.
Overview
The Birthday and Anniversary Tracker is a lightweight register of the dates that matter to the people in your life. You add the person, the type of occasion, and the date, and the tracker keeps a tidy list sorted by what's coming up next. It is the antidote to scrolling Facebook every morning hoping it tells you whose birthday it is, or remembering an anniversary three days late because the calendar invite was archived.
The use case is the long tail of personal relationships, partners, parents, siblings, in-laws, godchildren, friends, colleagues, plus wedding anniversaries, work anniversaries, the day a pet was adopted, and the dates that quietly anchor a year. Because the data is yours and stays on your device, you can include things you wouldn't want sitting in a corporate calendar, like the anniversary of a difficult loss you want to mark privately.
How it works
You add an entry with a name, an occasion type such as birthday or anniversary, and the original date. The tracker computes the next occurrence, sorts entries by how soon they are due, and highlights the ones inside a configurable warning window. Past entries roll forward automatically each year, so you maintain the list once and reuse it forever.
Entries are stored in your browser's local storage. You can edit names, change dates, or remove entries with a single action. There is no signup, no notification service, and no shared contact list.
Examples
- Adding your partner's birthday and your wedding anniversary, both pinned to the top during their week.
- Tracking the birthdays of nieces and nephews so you can post a card a week ahead rather than the day after.
- Logging the date you adopted a dog, marked yearly as "Gotcha day".
- Recording a friend's sober anniversary so you can send a quiet message of support.
FAQ
Will it send me reminders?
The tracker shows upcoming events when you open it. Active push notifications require a separate calendar app you can copy entries into.
Can I track ages and years?
Yes. Because the original date is stored, the current age or year count is displayed alongside each entry.
Is the data private?
Entries stay in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Can I distinguish birthdays from anniversaries visually?
Yes. Each occasion type has its own label and icon in the list view.
What if I only know the month and day, not the year?
You can use a placeholder year. The next occurrence calculation only needs month and day to work.
