Job Offer Comparison Calculator
Compare multiple job offers by total and cost-of-living-adjusted compensation.
About this tool
The Job Offer Comparison Calculator turns several competing offers into an apples-to-apples table. Enter one offer per line with the name, base salary, bonus, annualized equity, a cost-of-living index, and the dollar value of benefits, separated by pipes. It sums total compensation, adjusts each offer to baseline-equivalent dollars using the cost-of-living index, sorts the results, and names the winner — ideal for anyone weighing job offers across cities or remote roles.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare two job offers in different cities?
Enter each offer with its base, bonus, annual equity, benefits value, and a cost-of-living index (100 = baseline). The tool computes total comp and a COL-adjusted figure so you can compare offers in different cities fairly.
What is the col_index field?
It's a cost-of-living index where 100 is your baseline. A value of 130 means that location is 30% more expensive, so the COL-adjusted comp divides by 1.30. Leave it blank to default to 100.
How is COL-adjusted compensation calculated?
Total comp (base + bonus + annual equity + benefits value) is multiplied by 100 and divided by the cost-of-living index, putting every offer in baseline-equivalent dollars.
What if I leave a field blank?
Blank money fields are treated as 0 and a blank col_index defaults to 100, so you can compare offers even when you don't have every number.
