Overview

Recurring Reminders is a small tool for the things you need to do on a fixed cadence but keep forgetting because they don't earn a place in a full calendar app. Change the smoke alarm batteries. Rotate the car tyres. Service the boiler. Email your accountant about quarterly numbers. You define the reminder once, pick the cadence, and the tool shows you the next several firings so you can plan and the upcoming ones surface on the dashboard when their date arrives.

This is not a notification engine. It does not push reminders to your phone or send emails. What it does is keep a clean, visible list of recurring obligations that you can check whenever you sit down to plan a week or a month. For the long-tail of household, financial, and personal maintenance tasks, a visible list is usually all you need, and adding more channels typically just creates more dismissals.

How it works

You create a reminder with a title, a start date, and a recurrence pattern, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or every-N-days. The tool computes the next several firings and shows them in a preview, so you can sanity-check that the cadence does what you expected. The dashboard lists upcoming reminders sorted by next due date.

Entries are stored in your browser's local storage. Acknowledging a reminder advances it to the next occurrence. You can edit cadences, change start dates, and remove entries entirely.

Examples

  • Smoke-alarm battery change every 12 months, with the previous swap as the start date.
  • Quarterly tax email to your accountant, recurring every three months, previewed for the year.
  • Car service every six months, ticked off after each appointment to advance the next date.
  • Monthly check of subscriptions, recurring on the first of every month, used as a budget pruning ritual.

FAQ

Does it send push notifications?
No. The tool shows upcoming firings when you open it. For active push notifications use a calendar or task app.

What cadences are supported?
Common patterns including daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and every-N-days. Complex calendar rules are outside the scope.

How far ahead can I preview firings?
The next several occurrences are displayed, usually enough to confirm the pattern is right and plan the year.

Is my reminder data private?
Yes. Everything stays in your browser's local storage.

What happens if I miss a firing?
The reminder simply stays in the upcoming list until you acknowledge it, at which point it advances to the next occurrence.
