Pet Grooming Log

Track grooming visits and next-due dates.

Overview

A pet grooming log gives you one tidy place to record every wash, trim, nail clip, and de-shed session your animals receive, so you never have to guess when the next visit is due. Instead of scrolling through receipts, sticky notes, and calendar invites, you can see at a glance who was groomed, what was done, who did it, and when to book the next round. The list grows into a useful history that helps you spot patterns, justify costs, and keep multiple pets on their own schedules without confusion.

This tool is built for households with one or more dogs, cats, rabbits, or other animals that need regular grooming. It tracks the date of each visit, the pet's name, the service performed, the provider, and the next due date. Upcoming and overdue reminders surface at the top, color coded so anything past due stands out immediately. The pet, service, and provider fields autocomplete from your own history, so the more you log the faster each entry becomes.

How it works

Add a new entry by filling in the date, pet name, service, optional provider, and an optional next due date. Save it, and the row is stored against your account along with any free-text notes. As soon as a record has a next due date, it joins the reminder strip near the top of the page, marked as upcoming or overdue based on today's date.

Common services are suggested in a dropdown to keep entries consistent, and the pet and provider lists are built dynamically from your own history. You can delete any row inline if you mistype, and the next-due chip on each entry uses a warmer color when a visit is approaching and a stronger color when it is already past.

Examples

  • Logging a monthly bath: date today, pet Bailey, service "Bath and brush", provider "Happy Paws", next due in 30 days. The reminder strip updates instantly.
  • Tracking a nail trim done at the vet: pet Bailey, service "Nail trim", provider "Vet clinic", next due in 6 weeks, with a note about how she behaved.
  • Managing two pets: separate rows for Bailey (full grooming, quarterly) and Whiskers (sanitary trim, every 8 weeks) keep their schedules distinct.
  • Catching an overdue visit: a red overdue chip appears at the top when a pet's next due date has passed, prompting you to book.

FAQ

Can I track more than one pet?
Yes. Each entry stores a pet name, and the reminder strip groups upcoming visits by pet so multi-animal households stay organised.

What happens if I leave the next due date blank?
The visit is still logged in your history but it will not generate a reminder. Add a next due date later by deleting the row and re-entering it.

Are providers and services remembered?
Yes. After your first few entries, the pet, service, and provider inputs autocomplete from your previous values to speed up data entry.

Is my grooming history private?
Yes. Records are stored against your account and only visible when you are signed in.
