Overview

Packing List Templates turns "what am I forgetting?" into a solved problem. Build reusable lists for the trip types you actually take — weekend away, beach week, business trip, ski holiday, long-haul, family with kids — and load the right one every time you pack. Each template lives in your account, so once you have refined a list after a few trips, it keeps getting better instead of being rebuilt from scratch.

Lists support category headers so you can group items by Documents, Tech, Clothing, Toiletries, or whatever structure helps you scan quickly. Bundled sample templates give you a credible starting point for common trip types, and you can edit, duplicate, or delete them as your travel style evolves. The check-off state is per-template, so you can run through the same list across multiple trips without losing your annotations.

How it works

Each template has a name and a body of items, one per line. Lines starting with a hash and a space (for example, # Documents) act as category headers and visually group the items below them. Headers are optional — a flat list works fine too. After saving a template, you can tick items off as you pack; the count of checked items is shown next to the template so you can see progress at a glance.

Several preset templates ship as Example pills, including weekend, beach, business and ski trips. Loading a preset pre-fills the form so you can save it as-is or trim it to your preferences. Updating a template later is just a matter of editing the items text and saving.

Examples

  • A "Weekend" template with Documents, Tech, Clothing and Toiletries sections totalling about twenty items, used for every two-night city break.
  • A "Beach" template heavy on swimwear, sunscreen, and a "leave-at-home" category to remind you to skip the wool layers.
  • A "Business" template with chargers, dress shoes, lint roller, and a # Documents group for printed itineraries and corporate cards.
  • A "Family Ski" template combining adult and kids' gear, with notes like "boots in cabin bag, helmets in checked".

FAQ

Can I share a packing list with my partner?
The list is stored against your account, but you can copy the rendered text and paste it into a chat or shared notes app for anyone travelling with you.

Do the checkboxes reset between trips?
Check states are stored alongside the template. When you start a new trip, you can manually clear them or duplicate the template so the original stays at zero.

How long can a template be?
Up to four thousand characters of items per template — easily a hundred-plus entries with categories, which covers even the most thorough family packers.

Can I import a list from somewhere else?
Yes — paste any line-per-item list straight into the Items textarea. Prefix grouping lines with # to turn them into category headers.

Is there a "didn't pack" reminder once I'm at the airport?
The check-off state persists, so glancing at the template before you leave home reveals anything still unticked.
