Overview

Passport and Visa Reminders is the safety net for travellers whose documents have a habit of quietly expiring at the worst possible moment. Many countries require six months of passport validity beyond your travel dates, multi-entry visas have their own clocks, and family members often expire on different schedules. Keeping all of that in your head — or in a folder of scanned PDFs — is fragile. This tool gives every document a row, a holder, an expiry date and an at-a-glance status.

Documents are colour-cued as they approach expiry, so a passport that lapses within six months is visually flagged before it becomes a problem. That gives you enough lead time to book a renewal appointment, courier supporting paperwork, or apply for a fresh tourist visa. The tracker handles passports, Schengen visas, US ESTA-equivalents, transit visas, and any other dated travel document you want to keep tabs on.

How it works

Each record stores a document type (Passport, Schengen visa, Global Entry, and so on), the holder's name, the document number, an expiry date and an optional country of issue. The list highlights any document expiring within roughly six months and clearly marks anything already past its expiry date, so renewals never sneak up on you.

The data is private to your account. There is no integration with government systems — this is a personal reference tool. Use it alongside your physical and scanned-document workflow; it tells you when to act, not where the document lives. Adding a sample row demonstrates how a typical entry looks, after which you can swap in your real data.

Examples

  • Tracking a family of four passports with different renewal cycles, so the next trip planning starts with "whose passport renews first?"
  • Recording a multi-year Schengen visa with its specific entry/exit window in the notes, alongside the passport it is attached to.
  • Logging a US Global Entry membership separately from the passport so you remember to renew the trusted-traveller status independently.
  • Adding short-stay visas for an upcoming Asia tour, each with its country of issue and validity window.

FAQ

How early does it warn me?
Documents within six months of expiry are flagged. That window covers the common "six months remaining validity" rule applied by many destinations.

Can I attach a scan of the passport page?
No — file attachments are out of scope. Store scans in your secure document storage of choice; use this tool purely for the dates and numbers.

Does it support visas with both an issue and an expiry date?
The primary tracked date is expiry. Use the notes field for issue dates, entry counts, or maximum stay rules.

What if a passport is renewed?
Delete the old row and add the new one with the updated number and expiry. Optionally note the previous number in case you ever need it for visa applications that ask for prior passport details.

Is the data backed up?
Entries are stored under your account on the server, not just in your browser. Treat them as reference data rather than as a sole source of truth for legal documents.
