Plant Care

Remember when each houseplant was last watered.

Open tool

Overview

The Plant Care tool remembers when you last watered each houseplant so you can stop second-guessing the moisture of every leaf. Overwatering kills more houseplants than underwatering, and the simple discipline of recording a watering date helps prevent the "I think I did it Tuesday" guess that ends with mushy roots. A glance at the list tells you who is thirsty and who is fine.

Each plant has a name and a typical watering frequency; the tool computes a next-due date from the last log entry. When you water a plant, tap the button on its row and the timer resets. The list sorts so the most overdue plants float to the top, which is useful when you have a windowsill full of species with very different needs.

How it works

Add a plant by giving it a name and a watering interval in days. When you finish watering, mark it complete and the next due date is recalculated. Overdue plants are visually highlighted so a Saturday round of care is just a quick scan of the red rows.

You can edit a plant's interval as you learn its preferences across seasons. Removing a plant is a single click, useful if a particular pot does not make it.

Examples

  • A pothos in low light watered every 10 days.
  • A peace lily that wilts dramatically, watered every 5 days.
  • A snake plant on a 21-day cycle to avoid root rot.
  • A monstera moved to brighter light with the interval shortened from 14 to 10 days.

FAQ

Does it factor in season or humidity?
No, intervals are static; adjust them seasonally yourself, since most plants need less water in winter.

Can I track other plant care like fertiliser or repotting?
The tool focuses on watering. Use the plant's name to append a hint, or pair it with the Cleaning Rota for periodic tasks.

What if I forget to log a watering session?
The schedule is only as accurate as the logs; if you missed marking it, log it the next day so the next due date is close enough.

Is my plant list shared anywhere?
No, the list lives in your browser's local storage and stays on your device.

Can I add reminders?
There are no push notifications. Many users bookmark the page or check it as part of a weekend routine.
